Our Story
The company founder developed and advised government on clinical solutions that facilitated clinical referral, management and administration in Oncology, Palliative care, Gastroenterology and Ophthalmology. With this appreciation of the complexity, after working on the implementation of niche hospital Electronic Medical System a pattern became clear that there was a significant opportunity to address the high volume of unnecessary hospital referrals, administration and increase the speed and consistency of processing by unlocking the untapped potential within text based clinical data.
Nelus was founded in late 2019 on the back of early feasibility studies establishing the efficacy and potential of using AI techniques within existing pathways and protocols to process referral, increase clinical hospital capacity while also providing an objective evidence basis for the first time.
Our Team
Idong Usoro Chief Executive Officer
Idong brings extensive experience in data governance, Electronic Medical Records systems and developing and embedding digital health software innovation and solutions. His commercial and technical experience has seen him lead and engage teams in the UK, Europe and North America having worked with the NHS, Government, Private Health Companies, SMEs, and FTSE 100 companies.
Suzanne Lothian Project Coordinator
Suzanne has professional certification in Portfolio, Programme & Project Offices (P3O) and PRINCE2. She has an MSc in Management with Marketing and a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University. Her role within Nelus is to manage the day to day processes, undertake research and ensure all projects remain on track and deliver on schedule and within budget.
Euan Mason Data Scientist
Euan joined to provide support with broader internal technical development priorities and R&D. He is part of our Development Team, having graduated from Glasgow University with an MSc in Data Science. He is an experienced problem-solver with a passion for Data Science, Analytics and experience of front backend clinical software development across multiple platforms. Euan brings specialist skills in data analysis, processing, database design, machine learning techniques and text driven AI programming.
